I’m a judge! Well for the upcoming Houdini Apprentice Challenge any way. What’s this challenge you ask? It’s a competition Sidefx Software are having topromote Houdini and have the community "strut their stuff" so to speak. Here’s some info from Sidefx’s website.

The Houdini Apprentice Challenge gives artists a place to submit their work to be judged by the best in the industry. The challengers have until midnight (Eastern Standard Time) June 15, 2003 to compete for exciting prizes such as an HP workstation, ATI Fire GL X1 video cards, Houdini software and the chancefor their work to be profiled on the sidefx.com website.

The challenge is to create cutting edge 3D art and animation using the Houdini Apprentice Edition software. Artists from around the world can enter in one of the following categories which focus on different areas of 3D production: – Best Model – Best Character – Best Effect

I will be one of the judges who decide who gets these swanky prizes.. I’m open to bribes, cheques and paypal "donations".. Just kidding, it should be good fun. For more info go here.
